Dr. Majed Alghamdi is an accomplished consultant Radiation Oncologist, holding both the American and Canadian boards in radiation oncology and subspecializing in Central Nervous System Cancers, Stereotactic Radiosurgery, and Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (CNS, SRS, SBRT). With extensive expertise in the field, Dr. Alghamdi has proven himself as a leader in the medical community through his diverse roles and contributions. Dr. Alghamdi’s commitment to advancing medical knowledge is evident through his active involvement in numerous academic and other activities. He currently holds the position of the chairman of the board at the Saudi Association of Radiation Oncology (SARO), which is a scientific non-profit society aiming to advance the safe and effective practice of radiation oncology in Saudi Arabia. As an experienced medical educator, Dr. Alghamdi serves as a member of the Examination Committee at the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, contributing to the growth and development of Radiation Oncology Saudi residency programs. Dr. Alghamdi’s academic pursuits have also extended to the business realm, where he has pursued an MBA at Prince Mohammed Bin Salman College, exemplifying his multifaceted approach to professional development. Throughout his career, Dr. Alghamdi has been using different and advanced radiotherapy techniques to treat complex cases of cancer. His technical expertise is remarkable, encompassing a wide range of state-of-the-art treatments and technologies such as Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT)/Stereotactic Ablative Body Radiotherapy (SABR), Linac-based Stereotactic Radiosurgery (Elekta and Novalis units), Gamma Knife Stereotactic Radiosurgery, CyberKnife Stereotactic Radiosurgery, Spine SBRT, Lung SBRT, IMRT/VMAT/3D-CRT, Liver SBRT, and Pancreas SBRT. He has used different treatment planning platforms, including using Eclipse (Varian), Pinnacle, and Monaco (Elekta).
