It gives us great joy to announce the safe arrival of baby Maryam Violeta, who underwent Spina Bifida repair at 24 weeks gestation whilst still inside her mother’s womb. In an extraordinary story of hope, her parents had travelled from Colombia to Abu Dhabi to undergo this advanced in-utero procedure, desiring to prevent further complications from Spina Bifida – a birth defect in which the bones of the spine do not form properly. Today, Baby Maryam is in good health and displaying positive signs of recovery. We wish her a bright future filled with good health and happiness.
