Cerebral Palsy Treatment Center
Offering Hope Through Innovation and Expert Care
Our multidisciplinary team, led by Dr. Dobbs and Dr. Asadi, has treated over 5,000 children with CP. The surgical team collaborates closely with experienced therapists and an orthotics team, focusing on physical therapy, medication, Botox injections, tendon release surgery, baclofen pumps, and selective dorsal rhizotomy to manage symptoms and enhance quality of life.
CP is a group of neurological disorders that affect movement and muscle tone, caused by damage to the brain, typically occurring before or during birth. Symptoms can vary and may include difficulty with movement, coordination, and spasticity, leading to bone or joint deformity. While there is no cure, our treatments aim to manage symptoms and improve function.
At the core of our clinic is a team united by a single mission: to improve the lives of children with CP. Our approach involves an intricate balance of therapies, surgeries, and ongoing care tailored to each child’s unique needs.
SDR aims to reduce spasticity in legs by cutting nerves contributing to this condition, improving the ability to walk and move. This involves small incisions in the lower back to access the spinal cord, with nerves identified using electrical stimulation.
PERCS is a minimally invasive technique for tendon lengthening, designed to improve joint flexibility and range of motion. Both procedures require post-surgical physical therapy for strength and function recovery.
The fusion of SDR and PERCS techniques epitomizes our innovative spirit, marrying minimally invasive tendon lengthening with nerve sectioning to deliver comprehensive spasticity management.
Dr. Asadi, renowned for his expertise in neurosurgery, especially in treating children with spasticity, craniofacial abnormalities, and conducting minimally invasive tumor surgeries, has over a decade of experience. His approach includes a single-level laminoplasty at the Conus, ensuring bony spine reconstruction without removing any portions. Dr. Asadi’s surgeries report minimal complications, emphasizing his innovative techniques and protocols for optimal patient outcomes.
