Biography

Dr. Sangeetha Anamalamudi Vilvanathan has more than 13 years of experience and expertise, including teaching, routine & molecular microbiological testing & reporting, clinical research, infection control, Antibiotic stewardship, Audit & Accreditation related activities, and quality control practices. She has been trained in Quality Management Systems and Internal Auditor’s Training as per ISO 15189-2012, accredited by NABET.

Her expertise includes teaching, routine & molecular microbiological testing & reporting, clinical research, infection control, Antibiotic stewardship, audit & accreditation-related activities, and safety and quality control practices. She is also interested in research in the areas of antimicrobial drug resistance, emerging and re-emerging Infectious Diseases, and Healthcare-associated infections. She has published 14 papers in renowned national and International journals and has presented papers at various national and international medical conferences. She holds membership in the Indian Academy of Tropical Parasitology (IATP), the Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organization (CAHO), Member of British Society for Antimicrobial Chemotherapy, Member of Indian Association of Leprologists. She is also a reviewer of many reputed journals in the field of Microbiology. Before joining Burjeel Medical City, Abu Dhabi, Dr. Sangeetha Anamalamudi Vilvanathan was doing Informal Observership Program in Laboratory Department at NMC Specialty Hospital, Al Ain. She was also working as a Specialist and teaching faculty in Microbiology in various reputed organizations in India. She has guided MBBS students under ICMR STS (Short Term Studentship) projects.
