Biography

Dr. Mariano Ricardo Carballo is a distinguished Specialist in Radiology with over 26 years of experience in the medical field. He graduated with a Medical Doctor Degree from Universidad Nacional de La Plata in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from 1988 to 1994. Following this, he completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at “Rodolfo Rossi” Interzonal Hospital in La Plata between 1996 and 2000, earning his Diagnostic Radiology Specialist certification from the Ministry of Health and Social Development in Mendoza, Argentina, in 2001. In 2023, Dr. Carballo obtained the European Diploma in Radiology (EDIR), which serves as an international benchmark for radiologists across Europe and is officially endorsed by the European Union of Medical Specialists and the European Society of Radiology. His medical licenses include DHA registration, effective May 17, 2023, and a Specialist Radiologist License from the Maldives Medical and Dental Council, valid from October 5, 2020, to October 5, 2022. He also passed the Health Authority Abu Dhabi (HAAD) exam for Specialist Radiology in September 2013, further establishing his credentials in the field. Throughout his career, Dr. Carballo has successfully set up, managed, and maintained three Radiology Departments with a focus on quality and revenue generation. His notable achievements include overseeing the radiology department at Universal Hospital in Abu Dhabi from 2013 to 2017, leading the Heart Beat Medical Center from 2017 to 2020, and currently managing the Tree Top Hospital in Hulhumale, Maldives, since 2020. He played a crucial role in achieving Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation for Universal Hospital in 2016, demonstrating his commitment to maintaining high standards of healthcare delivery. Dr. Carballo’s extensive experience in radiology is complemented by his dedication to mentoring emerging radiologists, fostering the next generation of professionals in the field.
