Dr. Katherine Miller is an esteemed orthopedic surgeon at the Paley Orthopedic & Spine Institute and the Paley Middle East Clinic, specializing in pediatric orthopedic surgery with a keen focus on limb lengthening, deformity correction, and pediatric orthopedic trauma. Her journey into medicine began at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, NY, where she obtained her medical degree. Following her passion for orthopedics, Dr. Miller completed her internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at Houston Methodist Hospital in Houston, TX. Dr. Miller’s commitment to pediatric orthopedics led her to pursue specialized training through two prestigious fellowships. She first completed a one-year fellowship in pediatric orthopedics and foot deformity at Seattle Children’s Hospital in Seattle, WA, followed by another year focusing on pediatric limb lengthening and reconstruction at the Paley Orthopedic & Spine Institute in West Palm Beach, FL. This unique combination of fellowships has equipped Dr. Miller with a comprehensive skill set to address a wide range of pediatric orthopedic conditions. Throughout her career, Dr. Miller has demonstrated a profound dedication to serving communities in need. She has volunteered extensively in low-resource settings both domestically and internationally, embracing a global perspective on healthcare. Her work in medical school included studying Latino health and culture, as well as serving in free migrant clinics in upstate New York. Dr. Miller has provided care for children with complex conditions such as late presenting clubfoot and hip dysplasia in Mexico and Guatemala. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she led a team of local orthopedic surgery residents at a trauma hospital in rural Kenya for three months, showcasing her leadership and commitment to global health. Currently, Dr. Miller is a valued member of the Limb Lengthening and Reconstruction Team at the Paley Institute, where she treats both children and adults suffering from limb deformities, deficiencies, and discrepancies. Her areas of interest are diverse and include pediatric orthopedic surgery, limb length discrepancies, bone healing problems, skeletal dysplasia, and a wide array of developmental and post-traumatic deformities.
