Biography

Dr. Abeer Khalid Al Ali is a compassionate and patient-focused healthcare professional with extensive expertise in diagnosing, treating, and surgically managing a wide range of pediatric eye conditions. Her clinical expertise includes managing complex cases such as Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP), congenital cataracts, pediatric glaucoma, and strabismus, as well as performing basic pediatric oculoplastic procedures and eye trauma repair. Dr. Al Ali has a distinguished academic and professional background, including a full-time fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus at the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital, University of Cape Town, South Africa. ​ She is Arab Board Certified in Ophthalmology and holds an Executive Master of Healthcare Administration from Zayed University. She has also completed advanced training programs and courses in ophthalmology from prestigious institutions such as Harvard University, the International Council of Ophthalmology, and the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Al Ali is a dedicated educator and leader, mentoring residents and junior staff while introducing innovative training methods, such as surgical wet and dry labs. She has also played a pivotal role in improving ROP screening processes and implementing evidence-based clinical protocols to enhance patient safety and outcomes. Dr. Al Ali is an active contributor to the global ophthalmology community, having presented at numerous international conferences and authored research on topics such as ROP management, pediatric cataracts, and thyroid eye disease.
