Dr. Rinshi Abid Elayedatt is a distinguished specialist in obstetrics and gynecology, with a specialized focus on fetal medicine. With over 14 years of experience in obstetrics and gynecology, and more than seven years dedicated to fetal medicine, Dr. Elayedatt has developed robust expertise in managing complex cases and performing advanced procedures. She holds an MBBS, MS (OBG), DNB (OBG), and DGO, complemented by a Fellowship in Feto-Maternal Medicine and a Diploma of Expert in Imaging in Maternal-Fetal Medicine from the University of Barcelona under Professors Eduard Gratacós and Francesc Figueras. She has been certified by the Fetal Medicine Foundation, U.K., in various aspects of maternal-fetal medicine. Additionally, she has acquired certification in “Effective Prenatal Screening of Congenital Heart Disease” from Royal Brompton Hospital & St. George’s Hospital, London, under the professional guidance of Professor Julene S. Carvalho. Dr. Elayedatt’s professional experience includes significant roles in both independent and collaborative settings, including managing the fetal medicine department of an IVF center and four years of experience as an Assistant Professor in fetal medicine at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences in Kochi, India. In this busy tertiary referral center, her duties also included full-time training of postgraduate obstetric doctors in their two-year fellowship program in fetal medicine. Dr. Elayedatt’s extensive experience encompasses advanced fetal therapeutic procedures such as intrauterine transfusions, interstitial laser ablation, radiofrequency ablation, bipolar cord coagulation, thoraco-amniotic shunt, intra-vascular chemical embolization, and laser photocoagulation. She has also been part of a team performing cystoscopic posterior urethral valve laser ablation, fetoscopic endoluminal tracheal occlusion (FETO), and specialized surgical deliveries like the EXIT procedure. She is skilled in handling high-risk pregnancies, including those involving renal and liver transplant recipients, cancer survivors, and complex medical conditions. Dr. Elayedatt has contributed to the field through research, with publications in national and international journals, including the UOG Journal.
