Biography

Dr. P. Venkataraman is a distinguished Consultant Neurosurgeon with over two decades of experience spanning general neurosurgery, spinal surgery, and interventional neuroradiology. Renowned for his precision, dedication, and patient-first approach, he has consistently delivered outstanding outcomes in both elective and emergency neurosurgical procedures, with a special focus on minimally invasive and endovascular techniques. Dr. Venkataraman began his medical career by earning an M.B.B.S. from Annamalai University in 1993. His deep-rooted interest in the human nervous system led him to pursue an M.Ch in Neurosurgery, which he completed in 2005. He later advanced his expertise through a prestigious Fellowship in Interventional Neuroradiology and Endovascular Neurosurgery at University Hospital Zurich, Switzerland—an experience that solidified his position as a leader in cutting-edge neurovascular care. Throughout his career, Dr. Venkataraman has performed a wide array of complex neurosurgical procedures, including cranial and spinal trauma surgeries, tumor excisions, microvascular decompressions, spinal fusions, and deformity corrections. In the field of interventional neuroradiology, he is highly skilled in cerebral and spinal angiography, coiling of aneurysms, embolization of arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), treatment of dural arteriovenous fistulas (AVFs), and emergency stroke interventions. He has completed advanced training with some of the most esteemed neurosurgeons in India and abroad, including specialized courses in micro-neurosurgery, spinal surgery, and neuro-interventional techniques. His participation in international educational programs—such as the 19th, 20th, and 22nd Zurich Courses on Interventional Neuroradiology, as well as intensive hands-on training in microvascular anastomosis—underscores his lifelong commitment to clinical excellence and continuing education. Dr. Venkataraman has held various clinical roles across leading institutions in India and the UAE, serving as both Specialist and Consultant Neurosurgeon. In these roles, he has managed high-acuity brain and spine trauma cases, led complex surgical interventions, overseen outpatient and inpatient care, and mentored junior doctors. He has also played a key role in developing and implementing interventional neurovascular services within tertiary care settings. He is registered with the Medical Council of India and the Tamil Nadu Medical Council and holds active medical licenses in multiple Emirates in the UAE. Dr. Venkataraman is also a member of the Neurological Society of India and the Neuro Spinal Foundation of India. Passionate about advancing neurosurgical care, Dr. P.
