Biography

Dr. Merin Eapen underwent her undergraduate medical training form Calicut University India, Further to that her residency in Pediatrics in India with MD Certification and higher speciality training, Doctor of Medicine(DM) in Pediatric Neurology from Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram, India (3 years). She has more than 8 years of experience in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Neurology in India. Her clinical expertise includes interpretation of Electroencephalography (EEG), Nerve conduction studies (NCS) and Electromyography (EMG) and administration of Botulinum toxin (Botox). She evaluates and treats children with epilepsy including self-limited epilepsy, genetic epilepsies and refractory epilepsies.  She does developmental assessment for infants and children for early detection of developmental delay and continue with their evaluation and management. She works alongside the team of Occupational Therapists and Speech Language Pathologists for the management of children with autism. She can provide services like behaviour therapy and cognitive behavioural therapy to children with ADHD along with the Clinical Psychologist who works concurrently with her team. She integrates with her team in managing the rehabilitation services to children with cerebral palsy and neuro degenerative diseases. She provides cognitive assessment service for intellectually disabled children and children with poor scholastic performance along with Clinical Psychologist. She is passionate about teaching and was a faculty in the department of Pediatric Neurology teaching medical residents in Government Medical Colleges in India. She was a faculty in workshops in state and national conferences of Pediatric Neurology. She has presented papers in national and international conferences and received AOCN award in 2021 and NESSAN award in 2022.
