Biography

Dr. Michael Stephen Ajemian is the Head of Trauma and Acute Care at Burjeel Medical City. He received his basic medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School, Virginia, USA, after which he pursued a General Surgery Residency at the State University of New York. He also completed a Fellowship in Trauma, Acute Care Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care at New York University. During his medical education and training, he was appointed at various hospitals and clinics in the United States of America. Prior to moving to UAE, Dr, Michael conducted his medical practice at several leading hospitals in the USA as a Consultant in General Surgery for 17 years. In 2012, he moved to UAE where he worked in renowned hospitals including Mafraq Hospital, Saudi German Hospital Dubai, and Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Hospital, Dubai. He is a Member of several professional societies including the Association for Surgical Education, New England Surgical Society, Society of Critical Care Medicine, Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma, Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, and many more. He has bagged several awards for research and for his dedication to teaching medical students. He is also the author of several peer-reviewed articles, published abstracts, and presentations. Michael Stephen Ajemian is an experienced Consultant in General Surgery at Burjeel Medical City.
