Biography

Dr. Amina Al-Hanai is a highly skilled consultant in gastroenterology and hepatology, with over 17 years of experience in diagnosing and managing diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and liver, including liver transplantation. Driven by her passion for advancing liver health, Dr. Al-Hanai has forged an outstanding career by working in renowned medical institutions worldwide. She currently works as a gastroenterology consultant and liver transplant specialist at Tawam Hospital in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates, and is also an active member of the hospital’s organ donation committee. Previously, Dr. Al-Hanai held prestigious fellowships at King Faisal Hospital in Riyadh, St. Vincent’s Hospital in Dublin, and Mercy University Hospital in Cork, Ireland. Additionally, she has made significant contributions to clinical research after completing her clinical fellowships in gastroenterology, hepatology, and liver transplantation at leading medical centers. Dr. Al-Hanai is a teacher and examiner at the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland and a faculty member of the UAE Board of Internal Medicine Residency Program. She is also an active member of several prestigious professional organizations, including the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL), the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD), and the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG).
