Biography

Dr. Mehboob Ahmad has more than 20 years of working experience in different countries, including the UAE, Ireland, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan. He is an expert in giving General and regional anesthesia to adults and pediatric patients of all specialties, such as elective or emergency procedures. He is well trained in providing anesthesia outside the operating rooms, like anesthesia for MRI and other radiological procedures in the radiology department, including Cath Lab. Dr. Mehboob can provide sedation for procedures like endoscopies and large wound dressing changes. His expertise includes regional anesthesia like Labor epidurals for painless delivery, epidural anesthesia, spinal anesthesia, and combined spinal anesthesia. He has excellent skills in managing acute postoperative pain and chronic pain management and can handle patient-controlled analgesia machines. Experienced in managing critical patients in the intensive care unit, taking care of their mechanical ventilation and invasive monitoring like arterial line and central venous catheterization, etc. His areas of expertise include,

• Preoperative assessment of all kinds of patients for elective and emergency surgeries
• Management of general anesthesia and regional anesthesia, including epidural anesthesia, spinal anesthesia, combined spinal-epidural anesthesia, and ultrasound-guided regional blocks
• Providing anesthesia to all age groups including, geriatrics and pediatrics, for all types of surgeries, for example, general surgery, plastic surgery, faciomaxillary surgery, ophthalmology, ENT
• Managing high-risk obstetric patients and performing labor epidurals for painless deliveries
• Provision of anesthesia and sedation outside the operating rooms, for example, MRI and other radiological procedures in the radiology suite and sedation for endoscopies and change of large wound dressings.
• Management of acute postoperative pain and chronic pain by patient-controlled analgesia machines and local blocks
• Invasive procedures like arterial line insertions and central venous catheterization
• Management of critical patients in ICU, taking care of their mechanical ventilation and hemodynamically stability
