Biography

Dr. Ahmed Gouda has over twenty years of experience in gastroenterology and hepatology. He completed his degree in Medicine in 1999 and his Master’s Degree in Internal Medicine at Ain Shams University, Egypt, in 2010. He received a fellowship from the Egyptian Board of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, accredited by the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland in 2013. He then completed his European Diploma in Clinical Nutrition qualification from ESPEN in 2016. Dr. Gouda began his career as a Resident in Internal Medicine at Fayoum Health Directorate in 2000 and, subsequently, at Nasser General Hospital in 2004. In 2011, he joined the National Hepatology and Tropical Medicine Research Institute (NHTMRI), where he completed his fellowship degree in Gastroenterology and Hepatology while working as a Specialist in Gastroenterology. In 2017, he relocated to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and worked as a Senior Specialist in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at King Faisal Hospital, Mecca. Dr. Gouda moved back to Egypt in 2018 to practice his expertise and train junior doctors in upper gastrointestinal endoscopy at the National Hepatology and Tropical Medicine Research Institute. He then moved to the UAE in 2019 and was associated with one of the leading hospitals in Abu Dhabi before joining Burjeel Medical Centre, Al Shahama, Dr. Gouda is an expert in diagnostic and interventional colonoscopy, diagnostic and therapeutic upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, gastrointestinal bleeding, band ligation of esophageal varices, glue injection for gastric varices, non-surgical endoscopic procedures for obesity management, adjustable intragastric balloons, liver fibroscan, and abdominal paracentesis.
