Muscat – Burjeel Hospital has signed a strategic partnership with senior orthopedic consultant and trauma surgeon Dr Sultan al Maskari (FRCSEd Tr & Orth, UK) to launch Maskari Burjeel Orthopedic (MBO).
Located in the ground floor of Burjeel Hospital, Al Khuwayr, MBO was launched at a special ceremony held on Tuesday at Muscat Holiday under the auspices of Dr Shamsheer Vayalil, founder and managing director of VPS Healthcare.
The launch ceremony was attended by Dr Maskari, head of the new orthopedic centre, Dr Rohil Raghavan, regional CEO of VPS Group, Oman, Dr Abdulhameed al Kitani, PhD in sports physiotherapy and rehabilitation from UK and head of physiotherapy, Burjeel Hospital, and several dignitaries.
On the occasion, Dr Vayalil said, “We are pleased to partner with Dr Maskari and look forward to bringing our combined expertise to the sultanate in the form of the Maskari Burjeel Orthopedic centre. At Burjeel Hospital, we have a commitment to bring to Oman and the GCC the best healthcare solutions, along with excellence in care that ensures the highest standard of treatment. We are confident this partnership will go a long way in sealing Oman’s future as a world-class destination for orthopedic care and expertise.”
MBO will provide optimum care, state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment to people of all ages – children to the aged – for arthritis of all types, chronic joint pain, foot and ankle problems, fractures, hand and wrist problems, and sports and work injuries.
Dr Raghavan described the partnership as an “exemplary” one between “a consultant who is a master in his field and a hospital which maintains the highest standards”.
“Through a holistic approach, every patient will receive a bespoke surgical and/or rehabilitation plan and have access to specialist care from a team that will be there to aid every step of the recovery process,” Dr Maskari informed.
