Dr. Ibrahim Elwardany, MD, is a distinguished surgeon specializing in bariatric, laparoscopic, and general surgery with nearly three decades of experience. Dr. Elwardany’s medical journey began in 1997 when he graduated from Ain Shams University with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MB BCh). He advanced his expertise with an MSc in General Surgery in 2002, followed by a residency at Ain Shams Specialized Hospital. Dr. Elwardany was awarded a Doctorate degree in Surgery (MD) from Ain Shams University in 2010. His early interest in minimally invasive techniques paved the way for his pioneering work in the field. Notably, he was among the first surgeons to research and apply the Extraperitoneal Endoscopic Inguinal Hernia treatment, showcasing his innovative spirit. Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Elwardany has held esteemed positions at various hospitals, culminating in his role as a consultant bariatric, laparoscopic, and general surgeon at Burjeel Royal Hospital. He also imparts his knowledge as a Professor of General Surgery at Misr University for Science and Technology in Egypt, inspiring the next generation of medical professionals.
