Biography

Dr. Ayman Abdelraheem Alessawy completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine from Cairo University, Egypt, in 1982 and was subsequently awarded a Master’s Degree in Internal Medicine by the same university in 1988. Dr. Ayman has obtained Advanced Postgraduate Certificates in Diabetes from George Washington University in 2005, St. George’s University of London in 2013, and Harvard Medical School in 2018. With over three decades of extensive experience acquired from diverse healthcare institutions in Egypt, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, Dr. Ayman brings a wealth of knowledge to his new role at Burjeel Medical Center, Al Shamkha. He is a member of several international medical councils and a member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, the European Association for the Study of Diabetes, and the European Society of Hypertension. Dr. Ayman also actively participates in international training sessions and conferences. Dr. Ayman’s areas of expertise encompass a broad spectrum of Internal Medicine with a particular focus on chronic cardiovascular medical issues such as diabetes, obesity, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and cardiovascular diseases.
