Dr. Mohamed Babiker is a Clinical Oncology Registrar and Medical Doctor with extensive clinical and academic experience in cancer care, palliative medicine, and multidisciplinary oncology management. He previously served as Senior Oncology Registrar at the Merowe Oncology Center in Sudan, where he played an instrumental role in establishing a new oncology ward and acute oncology care unit. Dr. Babiker led key initiatives to restructure medical records, enhance chemotherapy safety, and implement palliative care protocols. His leadership in nursing education and protocol development significantly improved oncology service delivery and patient safety standards. At the Radiation and Isotope Center Khartoum (RICK), he managed a broad spectrum of oncology cases, including complex oncologic emergencies such as spinal cord compression, superior vena cava (SVC) obstruction, and febrile neutropenia. In addition to his clinical duties, Dr. Babiker actively supported chemotherapy and radiotherapy units and contributed to the academic development of residents and medical students through teaching and case discussions. Dr. Babiker is currently pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma in Cancer Biology and Precision Oncology at the University of Edinburgh, focusing on molecular mechanisms of tumor progression, bioinformatics, and precision-based cancer therapeutics.
