Dr. GianLuca was born in Roma in 1975, raised in the Caribbean and trained as a doctor at Milano University in Italy where he graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 2001. During his 5 years residency rotated at high volume tertiary hospitals in northern Italy, and he obtained the certificate of completion of specialty in Orthopedics and Trauma by the Milano University in 2006 with a thesis on Unicompartimental Knee Replacement. During his training program, he went for knee arthroscopy, knee arthroplasty and hip arthroplasty fellowships at the most highly specialized hospitals in Italy, under top notch mentors like Prof. Spotorno, Prof. Grappiolo, Prof. Arnaldi and Prof. Romagnoli. Since 2007, Dr. GianLuca started practicing as hip and knee joints specialist and was appointed as Consultant Hip and Knee surgeon in 2010 at Humanities Research Hospital in Milano, becoming Head of Department at Gruppo San Donato Hospital in Pavia six years later. Dr. GianLuca has been the designer of the innovative K-Mono® Unicompartimental Knee: patented under his name, is produced in Italy, CE marked and has been released in the market in 2020. Dr. GianLuca is actually working on a new robotic arm and navigation system able to manage multiple procedures and any implant design, making robotics easier, faster and more affordable.
