Abu Dhabi, 13 MARCH 2025: The Emirates Cancer Society and Burjeel Cancer Institute have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at providing specialized and comprehensive medical services for cancer patients, while also enhancing awareness and community efforts in this field. This collaboration underscores their shared commitment to supporting cancer patients and delivering the highest standards of healthcare for cancer patients.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the Emirates Cancer Society by H.E. Sheikh Dr. Salem Mohammed Hamad Balrakkad Alameri, Chairman of the Board, Emirates Cancer Society, in the presence of His Excellency Awad Salem Al Saadi, Executive Director of the Society, as well as Mr. Adam Al Baloushi, Member of the Board of Directors, and Mr. Hamad Taryam Al Shamsi, Director of the Ajman Branch. Representing Burjeel Cancer Institute (BCI), Prof. Humaid Al Shamsi, CEO, BCI, signed the agreement in the presence of Mr. Safeer Ahamed, Group Co-CEO of Burjeel Holdings.
This agreement aims to ensure high-quality medical care for patients referred by the Emirates Cancer Society, including discounts on treatment services to facilitate access to essential care throughout their treatment journey. Additionally, the collaboration encompasses psychological support programs for cancer patients, as well as the organization of awareness workshops and educational initiatives for the community.
H.E. Sheikh Dr. Salem Mohammed Hamad Balrakkad Alameri emphasized that this partnership reflects the Emirates Cancer Society’s commitment to creating a supportive environment for cancer patients. He noted that the agreement aligns with the Society’s ongoing efforts to establish strategic partnerships that enhance the quality of healthcare services provided to patients.

As one of the UAE’s largest cancer care network, BCI serves over 5,000 patients annually, offering 360-degree care from diagnosis to survivorship programs. Its network spans Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Dubai, Sharjah, and Al Dhafra, with a state-of-the-art facility at Burjeel Medical City. BCI’s multidisciplinary team of over 70 specialists provides advanced diagnostics and treatment across medical oncology, radiation oncology, hematology, bone marrow transplantation, surgical and transplant oncology, immunotherapy, nuclear medicine, stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), SBRT, breast surgery, and palliative care.
Through this agreement, the Emirates Cancer Society and BCI reaffirm their shared commitment to their humanitarian and healthcare responsibilities, working together to create a more hopeful future for cancer patients across the UAE.
