Dr. Samer El Asala is a Gastroenterology and Hepatology Consultant. He received his qualifications in Slovakia and his practical experience in the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom. He was also the Head of the endoscopy unit in the Czech Republic from 2006 to 2010, before moving to the UAE in 2010. From 2010 to 2017, he was the Deputy of the Gastroenterology Department at Al Ain Hospital. He then relocated to Mediclinic Al-Jowhara Hospital in Al Ain and later joined the Burjeel Royal Hospital. He was the Director of the Reflux Centre (gastroesophageal reflux disease diagnosis and management) and esophageal motility disorders. He can interpret the esophageal manometer and the impedance-based Ph measurement. He is also familiar with the esophageal capsule, which is used to measure pH in the distal esophagus. He was also the Obesity Centre’s Leader, and he implanted many intra-gastric balloons, which helped many patients lose weight. He is capable of performing diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopy, colonoscopy, and ERCP, as well as treating all bile duct diseases (stones, stenosis, etc.). His areas of expertise include,
