Dr. Ryad Bassam Alasas Specialist Medical Oncology

Biography

Dr. Ryad Alasas was born in Damascus, Syria, and graduated from Damascus University. He obtained his medical degree at Damascus University, Faculty of Medicine. His residency was at the Ministry of Higher Education Hospitals in Damascus. He completed his training in internal medicine, emergency, and intensive care units between 2012-2014 at Al-Assad and AL-Mouasat University Hospitals. After that, he completed his training in medical oncology between 2014-2016 at Al-Bairouni University Hospital. He obtained the Syrian Board In Medical Oncology in 2016 and a Master’s Degree in Medical Oncology in 2018. Dr. Ryad has seven years of experience treating cancer patients, with a special interest in breast, prostate, and colon cancer. He has good experience dealing with oncologic emergencies, diagnosing and putting treatment protocols, especially chemotherapy first and second lines. He is a Member of the Syrian Association of Oncology. His areas of expertise include, 

• Dealing with all cancer cases
• Dealing with oncologic emergencies
• Diagnosing and putting treatment protocols, especially chemo-, immuno- and targeted therapies
• Surveillance and follow-up for cured patients
• Cancer screening for all individuals
