Biography

Dr. Mohammed Zeki Ahmed is a vascular and non-vascular Interventional Radiologist. Dr. Ahmed worked as a Consultant Interventional Radiology in SEHA hospitals (Alain and Tawam) for six years before joining Burjeel Royal Hospital, Al Ain. Dr. Ahmed graduated in 1996 from Mosul College of Medicine in Mosul, Iraq. He completed two years of surgical training (vascular) in Leeds and Bradford hospitals in the UK and obtained an MRCS in 2005. He completed his Certificate of Specialty Training (CCST) in Radiology from Hull and Yorkshire Training Academy in 2010. He moved to London and finished a one-year Vascular and Interventional Radiology fellowship at the Royal Free London NHS Trust Trust-Centre for Hepato-Pancreatic-Biliary (HPB) Surgery and Liver Transplantation. Then, he returned to Hull and served as a full-time vascular Interventional Radiologist Consultant at Hull University Hospital for five years. Dr. Ahmed is one of the first radiologists to hold a HAAD (DOH) Interventional Radiology license after passing the HAAD IR specialty exam. He has more than 11 years of work experience in all aspects of vascular and non-vascular interventional radiology. His major interests include vascular and venous intervention, such as angioplasty, renal access work, and non-vascular intervention. He has an extensive experience in the interventional management of patients with major trauma who require embolization and endovascular treatment. He has expertise in embolotherapy in treating uterine fibroids, BPH, malignancies, and minimally invasive treatments for tumors.
