Dr. Omer Baldo completed his surgical training at the Yorkshire School of Surgery and was selected to the All-Yorkshire Specialist Registrar training programme in Urology, where he was trained in general urology and developed interests in andrology and female urology. His research investigated the novel theory of erectile dysfunction being an early marker for future cardiovascular diseases. This work received an international award in 2008 at the 23rd European Association of Urology Congress in Milan. Dr. Baldo was appointed as a Consultant Urological Surgeon at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust in 2013. His clinical practice includes all aspects of general urology including urinary tract infections and kidney stones. He also has a specialist interest in all prostate conditions including benign prostate enlargement and prostate cancer. He offers prostate management including transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP), laser prostate surgery (prostatectomy). He established the first consultant-led green light laser prostate surgery in Yorkshire followed by HoLEP laser prostate surgery. Rezum and UroLift [a technique used for treating lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) presumed to be secondary to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)]. Additionally, he has expertise in andrology (erectile dysfunction and men’s health) and female urology (urinary incontinence and recurrent infections).
