Biography

Dr. Sivaraman Letchumanan is a well-renowned General Surgeon who completed his MBBS at Bharathiar University, India, in 1991, followed by a Master’s of Surgery at Manipal Academy of Higher Education India, in 1998, where he also received the gold medal for the best outgoing medical student. In 1999, he became a Fellow of The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and a Fellow of Glasgow’s Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons. A year later, he became a Diplomate in National Board (General Surgery), then in 2011, he obtained his Fellowship of Robotic Surgery. In the span of his medical practice, Dr. Sivaraman had clinical attachments with hospitals in the UK such as Law Hospital, Carluke and Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh; and in India such as Kasturba Hospital, Government Stanley Hospital, Government General Hospital, and PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Hospital. Dr. Sivaraman’s areas of expertise include treatment of gall stones, abdominal pain, appendicitis, breast pain and lumps, thyroid disorders, hemorrhoids and fissures, varicose veins, pilonidal sinuses, abscesses, hernias, umbilical hernias, fistulas, endoscopies, colonoscopies, salivary gland lumps, and lymph node problems. Currently, he is a Member of the Association of Surgeons of India, Association of the Colon and Rectal Surgeons of India, Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India, Clinical Robotic Surgery Association, and Emirates Medical Association — Emirates Society of Laparo-Endoscopic Surgeons. He also has several publications and presentations to his credit.
