Biography

Dr. Surendra Prabhawa has joined Burjeel Hospital as General Medical Practitioner. He completed his Doctor of Medicine (MD) in 2012 from Gadjah Mada University Indonesia and his postgraduate Master’s degree in 2017 from the Faculty of Medicine Uppsala University Sweden. He worked and conducted his research at the Endocrine Surgery Department of Surgical Sciences at Uppsala University Hospital and the Cardiovascular Unit Department of Medicine Karolinska Institutet Stockholm, Sweden. Furthermore, he has also completed several courses, including neuroscience technique, an advanced immunology course from Uppsala University Sweden and Gadjah Mada University, and a post-graduate course in stem cell and tissue engineering from the Dutch Foundation and Universitas Indonesia. Before joining Burjeel, Dr. Surendra worked at many reputable hospitals and companies in South East Asia and Sweden, performing community clinical and public health services. He has pursued a keen interest in medical research and has done several international publications on his credit. Dr. Surendra Prabhawa has over nine years of experience in general and family medicine. His areas of expertise include acute, chronic disease, and critical care management. Additionally, he gained some clinical qualifications, including Basic Surgery Skills (BSS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Basic Life Support (BLS)- AHA, Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), International Trauma Life Support (ITLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
