Dr. Niyas Khalid has been at the forefront of rare disease management in the country —diagnosing and treating conditions such as Acute Intermittent Porphyria, Myasthenia Gravis with metabolic overlap syndromes, and autoimmune polyendocrinopathies, many of which were first of their kind reported globally. His work in this niche field has led to groundbreaking publications and international recognition.
A graduate of the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Dr. Niyas Khalid began his career in India’s high-volume tertiary centers before moving to the UAE, where he helped establish General Practice services at multiple institutions. He later advanced his training in General Internal Medicine in the UK, where he was mentored by leading British experts and immersed in multidisciplinary clinical environments.
Before joining Burjeel Abu Dhabi, Dr. Khalid served as Head of the Department of Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, and General Practice at Burjeel Medical City, leading both clinical and strategic initiatives.
