Dr. Shahid Rashid Specialist Pediatric Surgery

Biography

Dr. Shahid Rashid completed his Bachelor’s in Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) at Rawalpindi Medical College, Pakistan, in 1983. He then received his Master’s in Surgery from the Postgraduate Medical Institute (PGMI), Pakistan, in 1992. He then became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in the UK (FRCS-UK) in 1998. Dr. Shahid also became a Fellow of the European Board of Pediatric Surgery (FEBPS-UK) in 2011. Dr. Shahid has worked in several hospitals in Pakistan. He started his career at Fauji Foundation Medical Centre in 1985. Subsequently, he was moved to other hospitals, including Rawalpindi General Hospital and Rawalpindi Medical College Hospital. In 1993, he joined the Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Hospital and oversaw the Surgery Unit. In 1994, Dr. Shahid moved to the United Arab Emirates and practiced at a well-known private hospital in Abu Dhabi. He oversaw the management of surgical as well as medical emergencies. Three years later, he specialized in pediatric surgery and handled pediatric and neonatal emergency cases. Dr. Shahid Rashid has over 30 years of experience spanning the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, and Pakistan. He has been active in teaching and training medical students and being a mentor to junior clinicians. He has several research publications to his credit and is a regular participant and speaker at medical conferences and workshops.
