Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Raslan Omar is an Internal Medicine Specialist with over 26 years of experience. Being the Head of the Internal Medicine and Endocrine Departments at Burjeel Hospital, his approach to patients emphasizes the quality of care and treatment. He considers even the smallest details to ensure patients’ comfort and well-being through both clinical and administrative aspects. Dr. Omar is an expert in diabetes, hypertension, thyroid, and gastrointestinal diseases, including both the diagnosis and treatment of complicated cases. Additionally, he published two articles in 2023 titled “Tackling Iron Deficiency Anemia: A Global Perspective on Diagnosis, Treatment and Prevention” and “Glucagon-like Peptide-1 Receptor Agonist: A New Step Toward Weight Management”. He earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from Alexandria University in Egypt (1998). He also received a master’s degree in Internal Medicine from Alexandria University and practiced extensively for 4 years in its hospital (2000–2004). Furthermore, Dr. Omar earned the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians, London. He worked in both government and private sectors in more than one city in the Middle East. After working in Egypt, Dr. Omar moved to the Saudi Arabian National Guard Hospital. Later, he relocated to the United Arab Emirates to work for one of the Zayed Military Hospital branches in the Emirate of Sharjah. Most importantly, Dr. Omar joined Burjeel Hospital in 2013 and has been a part of this successful and excelling organization since then.
