Biography
Dr. Sunil Kumar Garg is a distinguished physician with an extensive career spanning over 27 years in the fields of Internal Medicine and Critical care. He graduated with an MBBS from Dr. Sampurnanand Medical College, Jodhpur, under the University of Rajasthan, and went on to complete his MD in Internal Medicine at S.M.S. Medical College, Jaipur. Further honing his expertise, Dr. Garg obtained a prestigious Fellowship in Critical Care Medicine from the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi, in 2005.
Dr. Garg’s remarkable journey began as a Senior Resident at a government hospital in New Delhi, where he gained invaluable clinical experience. His passion for critical care led him to the pioneering department of Critical Care Medicine at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute, Lucknow, where he served as a Senior Resident in India’s first standalone critical care department. In 2003, Dr. Garg took a significant step forward by joining the full-time Medical Council of India-recognized Fellowship at Escorts Hospital in New Delhi, where he further refined his skills in critical care.
As a founder critical care consultant at Max Hospital, New Delhi, Dr. Garg played a vital role in establishing & expanding the hospital’s critical care department. He later served as the Head of Critical Care and Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at Geetanjali Medical College Hospital in Udaipur, India, before taking on leadership roles as the Head of the Critical Care Department at Sarvodaya Hospital and NMC Hospital.
Dr. Garg’s expertise is recognized with additional credentials including the European Diploma in Intensive Care from the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine and specialty certification in Acute Medicine from the United Kingdom in 2016. His dual licensing from the Dubai Health Authority in both Internal Medicine and Critical Care further solidifies his stature in the medical field.
An avid academician, Dr. Garg has contributed to numerous publications in both national and international medical journals, particularly in the realm of critical care and COVID-19. He has authored several influential books on critical care medicine to disseminate knowledge on this vital field. Dr. Garg is particularly interested in the management of critically ill patients, including those with complex medical conditions, poisoning, trauma, and those requiring advanced ventilatory support.
