Dr. Vikram Lal is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (UK) and a Member of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh. He completed his postgraduate training (CCT in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and General Internal Medicine) in the Northeast of England, UK. Dr. Vikram has over 20 years of experience working in various institutions in the UK, with a special interest in obesity management, all types of diabetes management, and the treatment of endocrine disorders. Throughout his career, he has gained invaluable clinical experience in several secondary and tertiary care NHS hospitals in the Northeast of the UK. He has numerous publications in renowned journals and has presented his work at several national and international conferences. Dr. Vikram contributed to the update of the UEMS European Endocrine Training Curriculum in 2017. He updated diabetes management guidelines for endoscopy at the University Hospital of North Durham, UK, and revised guidelines for managing diabetes emergencies during his time at South Tyneside NHS Foundation Trust. While working at the Royal Victoria Infirmary Hospital, UK, he developed the North East Ambulance Service Steroid Alert Card for patients with adrenal insufficiency, which significantly enhanced patient safety. He also created a quick reference guide for managing adrenal insufficiency at the same hospital. His outstanding contributions have been recognized through several awards and certificates, including a Certificate of Excellence in Diabetes, the Undergraduate Top 10 Students Award, and the Kelly-Young Regional Prize. Dr. Vikram also has a strong interest in medical education. He was a leading member of the Endocrine Teaching Committee in the North East Deanery, UK.
