He has trained at world-renowned centers, including The John Radcliffe Hospital (Oxford, UK), University College London, St. Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospital (London, UK), and the Mayo Clinic (USA). Dr. Privitera has held prestigious leadership roles, including Lead Colorectal Surgeon at Tawam Hospital – Johns Hopkins (Abu Dhabi) and Section Head at a major tertiary referral center in Saudi Arabia, where he led the first robotic colorectal cancer resection using the Xi Robot. His expertise in minimally invasive procedures, including VAAFT, laser treatments, THD, and laparoscopic surgery, ensures faster recovery and improved patient outcomes. With over 70 peer-reviewed publications, Dr. Privitera is a leading expert in colorectal and hernia surgery. He was the first to publish on hemorrhoidal artery ligation (THD) in Diseases of the Colon & Rectum and has pioneered innovative techniques in hernia repair.
