Biography

Prof. Dr. Omar Fawzy is a highly experienced Consultant with over 55 years of experience in otolaryngology and head and neck surgery. He earned his degree in medicine in 1966 and a post-graduate diploma in otolaryngology in 1970, both from the University of Cairo, Egypt. Furthermore, he obtained his FRCS (Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons) qualification in the specialty from Edinburgh, the UK, in 1975. Prof. Dr. Omar was an Associate Professor of Otolaryngology at the Department of ENT, University of Alazhar, Egypt, from 1976 to 1982. He relocated to the U.A.E in mid-1982, working in government-led facilities such as Zayed Military Hospital and Abu Dhabi Police Medical Services until 2003. During this time, he took part in consultancy projects in healthcare strategic planning and management with American Medical Link Affiliate, International Medical Consultants (IMC), USA, where he was responsible for senior-level project management duties for several large-scale healthcare projects in the Middle East; after that, Prof. Dr. Omar opened his private medical practice for fourteen years until 2017. He was then associated with a reputed medical center in Abu Dhabi for five years before joining Burjeel Day Surgery Center on Al Reem Island. Prof. Omar has a wide range of skills, including endoscopic sinus surgery, septoplasty and turbinate ablation, coblation tonsillectomy by radio frequency, adeno tonsillectomy and tonsillotomy (radio frequency), tympanoplasty (closure of eardrum perforations), insertion of ventilation tubes, endoscopic surgeries of the voice, assessment and treatment of tinnitus, hearing problems, snoring, and sleep apnea.
