Dr. Mohammed Alqaydi Consultant General Surgeon, Coloproctology

Dr. Mohammed Al Qaydi is a Consultant General Surgeon with more than two decades of surgical experience in general surgery, trauma surgery, military medicine, and humanitarian medical operations. He graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), where he earned his medical degree, followed by internship training in Ireland. He completed his specialist training in Germany and obtained the German Board Certification in General Surgery in 2010. In 2012, he completed advanced subspecialty training in Proctology, further strengthening his expertise in colorectal and anorectal disorders. Throughout his career, Dr. Al Qaydi has held several senior leadership positions within the UAE military healthcare system. He served as Head of General Surgery at Zayed Military Hospital, where he led one of the country’s busiest surgical departments while developing high standards of patient care, surgical governance, and multidisciplinary teamwork. He later served in the UAE Forward Surgical Team, leading highly specialized surgical teams in austere and operational environments, with extensive experience in trauma surgery, damage control surgery, emergency surgery, and mass casualty management. He subsequently served in  the UAE Field Hospital, overseeing the planning, deployment, and management of advanced field hospital operations during humanitarian missions and emergency responses. Dr. Al Qaydi has participated in numerous international humanitarian and disaster relief missions, including deployments following the Türkiye earthquake, humanitarian operations in Gaza, and medical support missions in Yemen. These experiences have strengthened his expertise in disaster medicine, military surgery, trauma systems, and crisis leadership. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Al Qaydi is actively involved in advancing surgical education and professional development. He serves as President of the Emirates General Surgery Society (EGSS), where he leads initiatives focused on surgical education, international collaboration, research, and the development of future generations of surgeons. Under his leadership, the society has expanded its regional and international partnerships and strengthened educational programs across the UAE. Dr. Al Qaydi is fluent in Arabic, English, and German, enabling him to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations and international healthcare professionals. His professional interests include general surgery, minimally invasive surgery, proctology, trauma surgery, damage control surgery, emergency surgery, military medicine, field hospital operations, surgical leadership, quality improvement, and healthcare management. Dr. Al Qaydi is committed to delivering patient-centered, evidence-based surgical care while building high-performing multidisciplinary teams.
