Biography

Dr. Abdulkader Hamad is a distinguished orthopedic spinal surgeon specializing in pediatric and adult spinal deformity, revisional spinal surgery, and complex major spinal trauma. He graduated with commendation from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland in 2006 and has trained at the renowned Stoke/ Oswestry Orthopedic training program. In 2017, he achieved the FRCS (orth) from the Royal College of Edinburgh, followed by the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT).  Dr. Hamad’s fellowship training at Salford Royal Infirmary and Manchester Children’s Hospital, supplemented by additional experience from Bordeaux and Dublin, highlights his commitment to excellence in his field. He is an active member of the British Scoliosis Society (BSS) and the British Association of Spinal Surgeons (BASS). Dr Hamad has 18 years of NHS experience and worked as a consultant at the University Hospital North Midlands, a major trauma center for complex spinal emergencies as well as a tertiary center for spinal deformity and complex spine pathology. Dr. Hamad brings a wealth of knowledge and a proven track record in complex and revisional spinal surgeries, including minimally invasive surgery (MIS). His expertise extends to running and setting up multi-disciplinary team meetings and training future specialists, underscoring his capabilities and leadership in orthopedic surgery. Fluent in both Arabic and English, Dr. Hamad is dedicated to providing evidence-based complex spinal surgery and is committed to integrating training and teaching into his professional ethos.
