Biography

Dr. Maha Elhassan is a distinguished American Board-certified Pediatric Endocrinologist and Diabetologist with a robust educational and professional background. Balancing knowledge-seeking and practice, Dr. Maha Elhassan has trained in Sudan, the UK, North America, and the UAE. She graduated from the University of Khartoum Medical School in 1995. Following her graduation, she completed her housemanship in Khartoum, laying the foundation for her medical career. Seeking further specialization, Dr. Elhassan obtained her MRCPCH in the UK in 2001, which allowed her to enhance her expertise in pediatrics. In 2009, she completed her residency in Pediatrics in Chicago, Illinois, and continued her pursuit of specialized knowledge by undertaking a fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan, which she completed in 2015. Dr. Elhassan began her subspecialty professional career as a full-time Pediatric Endocrinologist and Diabetologist at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit, USA, where she worked from 2015 to 2023, providing expert care to children with a variety of endocrine disorders and all forms of diabetes. By the end of 2023, she transitioned her practice to the UAE, continuing her dedicated service in Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes. With a passion for advancing pediatric healthcare, Dr. Elhassan remains committed to improving the lives of children through her clinical practice and expertise.
