Biography

Dr. Kyu Hwan Jung is a Korean board-certified consultant ENT surgeon and an expert in Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He performs all aspects of ENT surgeries, including complex ear diseases, nasal obstruction or snoring, and head and neck masses. Dr. Kyu Hwan Jung has 21 years of experience as an ENT surgeon. He completed his MD at Seoul National University in South Korea and then obtained his Korean ENT Specialist certification at Seoul Samsung Medical Center (SMC). He finished a four-year residency program and a two-year Otology-Neurotology Clinical Fellowship at SMC. As part of his training and research program, he conducted hearing research at the Virginia Merrill Bloedel Hearing Research Center, University of Washington in the USA, as a research scientist under Professor J. T. Rubinstein, MD, PhD. He was particularly involved in cochlear implant advanced signal processing and psychoacoustic research. To further his interest in hearing research, he spent a year as a research scholar at the University of Iowa Speech and Hearing Center in the USA, working under Professor Ruth Bentler, PhD, focusing on hearing-aid signal processing research. Dr. Kyu has performed more than 1,200 diverse ENT surgeries, including complicated tympanomastoidectomy, ossicular reconstruction, hearing restoration surgeries such as stapedotomy, and cholesteatoma surgery. He has also conducted septorhinoplasty for difficult cases of nasal breathing and pediatric surgeries for adenoid and tonsil issues, as well as chronic middle ear effusion. Additionally, he has experience in head and neck surgeries, particularly for the salivary glands, thyroid, and upper airway obstruction.
