Biography

Professor Dr Ahmed Rizk graduated from Benha University, Egypt, with an MBBCh in 2002. He completed his residency and obtained a Master’s degree in Surgery/Neurosurgery before beginning his work as an Assistant Lecturer in 2007. Dr Rizk worked at Heliopolis Hospital and the Nasser Institute in Cairo until 2010, under the supervision of Professor Ali Kotb, a pioneer of skull base surgery in Egypt. Between 2010 and 2013, Dr Rizk completed a scholarship and fellowship at Tübingen University Hospital in Germany. In 2015, he earned his MD in Neurosurgery from Tübingen University and became a Facharzt (German Board–Certified Neurosurgeon). From 2010 to 2015, Dr Rizk was involved in advanced vestibular schwannoma and skull base surgeries under the supervision of Professor Tatagiba (University of Tübingen), as well as endoscopic pituitary surgeries under the supervision of Professor Bettag (Merciful Brothers Hospital, Trier). Until December 2025, he worked as a Consultant Neurosurgeon at Merciful Brothers Hospital, Trier, Germany. In recent years, Dr Rizk has been responsible for minimally invasive and complex spine surgeries at the same institution. In 2025, he completed a North American fellowship programme specializing in complex, robotic, endoscopic, and minimally invasive spine surgeries. He is a licensed Neurosurgery Consultant in Germany, Egypt, and the UAE. Recently, he joined Burjeel Holdings and is currently practicing as a Consultant Neurosurgeon at Burjeel Hospital, Abu Dhabi.
