He specializes in the management of critically ill patients in general, cardiac, and post-surgical intensive care units, with particular expertise in critical care echocardiography, advanced hemodynamic monitoring, and cardiovascular critical care. Dr. Basem earned his Master’s Degree in Critical Care Medicine in 2014, followed by a Diploma in Cardiology in 2015 and a Certificate in Echocardiography from the Egyptian Society of Echocardiography. In 2023, he obtained the prestigious European Diploma in Intensive Care (EDIC) and subsequently completed his MD in Critical Care Medicine. As part of his specialist training, he completed a Critical Care Fellowship at the Department of Anesthesia, Intensive Care, and Pain Management at Ain Shams University Hospitals, one of Egypt’s largest and most specialized tertiary care centers. Since 2014, Dr. Basem has served as a Senior Specialist in Critical Care, managing a wide spectrum of complex medical and surgical cases while performing more than 1,000 ICU-related procedures and overseeing the care of over 3,000 critically ill patients. His expertise encompasses advanced critical care procedures, ultrasound-guided interventions, mechanical ventilation, ECMO support, post-operative cardiac surgical care, and critical care echocardiography. He has also participated in numerous specialized training programs in intensive care, cardiology, and echocardiography, reflecting his commitment to delivering high-quality, evidence-based patient care.
