Biography
Dr. Yang is a board-certified neurosurgeon specializing in the treatment of spinal diseases. His clinical practice encompasses the full spectrum of spinal disorders. He earned his medical degree from Seoul National University College of Medicine, the most prestigious medical institution in Korea, where he also obtained a master’s degree and completed Ph.D coursework.
He completed his internship and residency in neurosurgery at Seoul National University Hospital (SNUH), the nation’s leading tertiary referral center, and became a board-certified neurosurgeon in 2010. Following three years of military service as a neurosurgeon in the Korean Armed Forces, he returned to SNUH, where he completed a two-year fellowship in spinal neurosurgery and subsequently began his career as a spine surgeon.
Over the past decade, including two-year international assignment at Sheikh Khalifa Specialty Hospital in the UAE, Dr. Yang worked as clinical assistant/associate professor and treated a broad range of spinal conditions—such as degenerative spinal disease, spinal trauma, adult deformity, spinal tumor, vascular and infective spinal disease—and has performed more than 1,300 major surgeries. He has also contributed to several clinical research and authored chapters in a few textbooks.
Most recently, Dr. Yang has worked at a specialized spine hospital, with a particular focus on minimally invasive endoscopic procedures for the treatment of degenerative spinal conditions such as herniated discs and lumbar spinal stenosis.
