Dr. Payam Azali has more than 11 years of experience. He completed his post-graduation in Rheumatology at Karolinska Institute Danderyds University Hospital (KIDS) in Stockholm, Sweden, in 2012. He has practised rheumatology in Sweden since then. For the last 8 years, he has been a senior consultant rheumatologist and head of the clinic at Danderyds University Hospital in Stockholm. He has excellent experience in investigating and treating chronic inflammatory joint diseases in adults, such as Rheumatoid arthritis, Spondyloarthritis, Psoriasis arthritis and gout disease, as well as systemic inflammatory diseases and autoimmune connective tissue diseases as SLE, Sjögren, Inflammatory muscle diseases (myositis- Dermatomyositis) and vasculitis, even those comorbidities as osteoarthritis or osteoporosis. He has long experience in advanced biologic therapy in management of rheumatic diseases. He has a special interest in musculoskeletal and vascular ultrasound as a modern and efficient investigation tool in rheumatology which helps a lot with guided therapeutic local corticosteroid injections or other interventions.
