Dr. Manish Raj is a double-board-certified physician who practices interventional pain medicine, Endoscopic spine surgery, and Neuromodulation surgery. In the past 14 years, he has performed over 5,000 spine interventions, 2,000+ endoscopic spine surgeries, and over 500 advanced complex Spine interventions, with a success rate of more than 96%.
Before transitioning to Burjeel Hospital for Advanced Surgery, he expertly managed the Interventional Spine and Pain Clinic at Mediclinic City Hospital and Mediclinic Parkview Hospital in Dubai. His leadership was instrumental in transforming the clinic from a basic pain management facility into an interventional spine and pain center. In one academic year alone, he performed over 200 spine interventions, including complex endoscopic spine surgeries and the implementation of spinal cord stimulators. Prior to his time at Mediclinic City Hospital, he served as the head of the Interventional Pain Medicine Department at Emirates Hospital Group in Dubai. There, he pioneered advanced endoscopic disc decompression techniques and introduced numerous evidence-based strategies to address the ongoing challenge of pain, establishing himself as a leader in the field. With 14 years of dedicated experience as an Interventional Spine and Pain Medicine expert, he successfully developed and led the Department of Interventional Spine and Pain Management at three prestigious tertiary care super-specialty hospitals in India.

- He has published groundbreaking original scientific research, including a technical review on the use of endoscopic procedures for various types of disc herniation. Additionally, he has authored and co-authored numerous research articles in the fields of interventional spine and pain management.
- Notably, he is the only reviewer for the prestigious World Neurosurgery Journal with a background in pain medicine, having reviewed 40 scientific publications to date. He is also a co-author of the book "Atlas of Interventional Pain Management Procedures," published by Jaypee Publishers on November 20, 2022, where he contributed to the section on endoscopic disc surgery. Moreover, he was selected as the honorary chairperson of the Special Interest Group (SIG) at the Indian Society for the Study of Pain (IASP) for Endoscopic Spine Procedures, tasked with providing guidelines for endoscopic spine surgery within the society.

- After completing his bachelor's MBBS from Tash Govt. Medical University & Hospital in 2007, he went on to do his Master's in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine from Dr. D.Y. Patil University Medical College 2011, Pune, India, passing out with honors.
- He further received a fellowship in pain management from AESCULAP Academy, Germany.
- In 2013, he finished a 2- year fellowship program at the Pain Clinic of India as a Fellow of Interventional Spine and Pain Medicine (FISP) and in 201G.
- He received an international fellowship in Endoscopic Spine Surgery (IFENDS) after completing advanced endoscopic spine surgery training at the Nanoori Hospital under Pioneer of Endoscopic Spine Surgery Professor Dr Hyeun Sung kim in South Korea.
