Dr. Ashok Gupta is one of the pioneers in the UAE with over 10 years of experience using the FDA-approved Venaseal (Bio Glue) system for the minimally invasive treatment of varicose veins. He specializes in the treatment of ischemic and non-healing chronic wounds, peripheral bypass surgeries, repair of aneurysms and pseudoaneurysms, and AV access creation for hemodialysis. Dr. Gupta also specializes in the diagnosis and management of patients with deep venous thrombosis using both medical and invasive techniques. He is experienced in catheter-based peripheral endovascular techniques, peripheral vessel angioplasty/stenting, and stent grafting. Dr. Gupta is also trained in the use of vascular ultrasound for the diagnosis of vascular diseases. He earned his medical degree in 1990 from the University of Delhi, India, and completed his surgical residency at Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai, India. This was followed by a three-year period of supervised vascular surgical training under the Oxford and Birmingham rotations between 1997 and 2000. In 2003, Dr. Gupta completed an overseas vascular fellowship at the Institute of Vascular Health and Disease in Albany, Upstate New York, USA. Dr. Ashok Gupta has been a designated Cordis Endovascular Trainer in peripheral vascular interventions since 2002.
