Dr. Supriya Sundaram is a highly experienced physician with dual accreditation in internal medicine and respiratory medicine. She received her specialized Respiratory Medicine Training in Cambridge, England, and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Edinburgh (Medicine). Dr. Sundaram served as a Consultant at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, UK, until 2013, after which she joined Kauvery Hospital in Chennai, India, where she continues to practice. She has a particular interest in respiratory infections and conducted her research at Papworth Hospital in Cambridge. Her work led to a Doctorate in Medicine (MD) for her thesis, “Characterization of Exacerbations in Non-CF Bronchiectasis,” which focused on establishing endpoints for measuring treatment efficacy. Additionally, she trained in lung transplantation at the same institution. Her clinical expertise includes fiberoptic bronchoscopy and sleep studies. Beyond her medical practice, Dr. Sundaram is actively involved in medical education, having taught both undergraduate and postgraduate students. She has also served as a Royal College Tutor for Medicine. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she has played a significant role in clinical governance and has contributed to hospital antibiotic policy advisory boards, ensuring best practices in infection management and patient care.
