Biography
Dr. Haitham Al-Okk is a distinguished Consultant Medical Oncologist with extensive expertise in hematology and oncology. He earned his Medical Doctorate from the Higher Medical Institute – Medical Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria, in 1992. Following his graduation, he completed an internship at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in New Jersey and a residency in Internal Medicine at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Dr. Al-Okk further honed his skills through a fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at Seton Hall University. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, and Hematology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Medical Oncology, and the American Board of Hematology. Over the course of his career, Dr. Al-Okk has held prominent positions at renowned cancer treatment centers, including the Karmanos Cancer Institute in Michigan and the Good Samaritan Cancer Center. Additionally, he has contributed significantly to oncology care in global institutions such as the National Guard Health Affairs in Saudi Arabia and the Kentucky Cancer Clinic. Dr. Al-Okk has co-moderated GI tumor board conferences with leading institutions like Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC), the American University of Beirut (AUB), and the National Guard Health Affairs (NGHA), showcasing his commitment to collaborative, multidisciplinary care. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and the American Society of Hematology (ASH). During his medical training, he received a full-time scholarship and was honored to serve as the Hematology/Oncology Chief Fellow at Seton Hall University.
