Biography
Ms. Lakna has completed her master’s in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology from Dr. M.V. Shetty College of Speech and Hearing (affiliated with Mangalore University). Her experience includes working in a university, specialized school, clinical set, and hospital facility, including acute and rehabilitation facilities. She has clinical experience in the assessment and management of receptive language disorders, expressive language disorders, aural rehabilitation, articulation and phonological disorders, oral-motor functioning disorders, voice impairment, fluency disorders, pragmatic language disorders, feeding aversions, and swallowing impairments across all age ranges. She has experience in using alternative and augmentative communication methods for various communication disorders. Her areas of expertise include,
- Treating feeding and swallowing disorders
- Play-based therapy with Pediatrics
- Certified in Oral Placement Therapy
- Certified to carry out video fluoroscopic swallow study
- Trained in NICU PICU with feeding premature babies and children with feeding and swallowing challenges
