Women's Health Rehabilitation focuses on treating disorders affecting the pelvis and pelvic floor, catering to patients throughout pregnancy, postpartum, and menopause. Services include manual therapy techniques, muscle stimulation, Pilates-based rehabilitation, and personalized treatment plans to address symptoms and prevent long-term issues.
Women’s Health Rehabilitation encompasses therapeutic treatments for disorders affecting the pelvis and pelvic floor, addressing a wide range of conditions encountered throughout various stages of a woman’s life, including pregnancy, postpartum, and menopause. With a growing demand for pelvic floor treatments, our Women’s Health department serves as an asset in the uro-gynecological sector, providing comprehensive care to patients with pelvic floor dysfunction.
Our patients come from diverse backgrounds, ranging from professional athletes experiencing pelvic floor issues to prenatal and postnatal women dealing with pelvic and back pain, urinary incontinence, episiotomies, and diastasis recti insufficiency. At our facility, our physiotherapists utilize a holistic approach combining manual therapy techniques, muscle stimulation, and Pilates-based rehabilitation to address symptoms and target the root cause of the problem, aiming not only to alleviate current issues but also to prevent long-term complications.
During your appointment, you can expect a comprehensive and individualized assessment, beginning with an examination of the abdominal, pelvic, and lumbar spine regions, which are often interconnected with pelvic floor dysfunctions. With your consent, an intra-vaginal examination may be offered to assess pelvic floor muscle tone, strength, and control. Through finger palpation and muscle testing, the therapist evaluates injuries, scarring, pelvic organ prolapse, muscle tone, tenderness, sensation, and neural sensitivity, ensuring a thorough understanding of your condition.
Following the assessment, the physiotherapist will develop a personalized treatment and exercise program tailored to your symptoms and treatment goals. Our range of treatments includes pre and postnatal physiotherapy, biofeedback, muscle stimulation for pelvic floor muscle retraining, pelvic pain management, menopause support, functional echography, dry needling, antenatal yoga, Lamaze training, lymphatic drainage, and scar therapy for conditions such as cesarean section or abdominal surgery.
We specialize in treating various conditions, including urinary dysfunction (incontinence, overactive bladder), bowel dysfunction (fecal incontinence, constipation), prolapse syndromes (cystocele, rectocele, uterocele), hypertonic pelvic floor dysfunction, female sexual dysfunction, coccydynia, pelvic and perineal pain, low back pain during pregnancy and postpartum, vaginismus, and diastasis recti abdominis insufficiency. Through comprehensive assessment, personalized treatment plans, and a range of therapeutic interventions, our Women’s Health Rehabilitation program aims to empower women to achieve optimal pelvic health, improve quality of life, and address the unique challenges associated with various stages of womanhood.
