Dr. Iviano obtained his MBBS degree in medicine from Nigeria and pursued advanced training in neonatology in the UK. Beginning his consultant career with a focus on congenital heart disease, respiratory care, nutrition, and family-centered developmental care for newborns, Dr. Iviano has accumulated 18 years of experience in tertiary, multidisciplinary hospital environments. His expertise extends to managing sensitive pediatric cases, including the care of infants born as early as 23 weeks, with both medical and surgical complications. As the Lead Consultant for the Nutrition Team, Dr. Iviano established evidence-based guidelines for consultants, nurses, and pharmacists in the neonatal unit, ensuring standardized nutritional practices. Currently serving as the Director of Neonatology Services for Burjeel Holdings, UAE, and Consultant in Neonatal Medicine at Burjeel Medical City Abu Dhabi, he brings extensive expertise in managing perinatal networks and Level-3 neonatal units. Dr. Iviano’s collaborative approach spans a wide range of perinatal and pediatric specialties, including neonatal surgery, cardiology, gastroenterology, neurology, neurosurgery, and ophthalmology. He is an active participant in national and international seminars, conferences, and panel discussions, sharing his research and expert insights in neonatology and pediatrics. His research endeavors include monitoring metabolic bone disease, participating in a randomized controlled trial of early insulin therapy for very low birth weight infants, and conducting studies on predicting clinically significant patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) and sepsis in preterm infants. Dr. Iviano’s dedication to advancing neonatal care underscores his invaluable contributions to the field.
