The test is performed by a cardiologist to evaluate the extent of plaque buildup in your coronary arteries. It helps the doctor to determine if you have blockages and if further treatments like medication, angioplasty or stent placement, or surgery are needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color:#810067\" class=\"has-inline-color\">When is a Coronary Angiogram Performed?<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are experiencing symptoms such as chest pain, shortness of breath, or dizziness, which could indicate heart problems, coronary angiogram may be performed. The test may also be done if you have an abnormal stress test or electrocardiogram (EKG) result.
