Biography

Dr. Darwich is a Consultant Knee Surgeon and Chairman of Burjeel Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Center. He is one of the region’s most trusted and experienced Orthopedic Surgeons and Sports Medicine specialists. He is a French-trained Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in arthroscopic surgery and knee ligament reconstruction. He is also an expert in treating a variety of sports-related injuries. In 2006, he founded the Abu Dhabi Knee & Sports Medicine Centre to bring world-class orthopedic care to Abu Dhabi and the UAE and attract patients from throughout the MENA region. Dr. Darwich has been an Orthopedic Surgeon for 30 years and has successfully performed over 11,500 surgeries in the UAE since 1996. He has presented at over 70 international orthopedics and sports medicine conferences throughout Europe, North America, and the Middle East. He has over 15 anterior cruciate ligament surgery publications, including journal articles and book chapters. He is a frequent presenter on orthopedic surgery and joint repair at international orthopedic conferences. He is licensed to practice medicine in France (Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery), the United Kingdom (full registration), and with the Syrian Ministry of Health (as both Orthopedic Surgeon and MD). Dr. Darwich earned his Medical Degree from Damascus University’s Faculty of Medicine and completed Postgraduate Orthopedic Training in France, where he began his orthopedic career.
